People with disability and their supporting therapists can access expert consultations with ILC’s health professionals about assistive technology to support them to achieve their goals.
Through an expert AT consultation at the ILC:
- our experienced health professionals will provide impartial advice about the most suitable assistive technology options for each individual;
- clients and their therapists are able to view and trial a range of assistive technology options at the one location, ensuring an efficient use of their time; and
- individuals will have the confidence that their identified assistive technology solutions are the most suitable for their individual needs.
A standard expert AT consultation ranges in time from one to two hours and includes an appointment with the relevant health professionals; access to a range of assistive technology options for viewing and trialling on the display floor; advice on the most suitable options; and provision of supplier details.
From 1 July 2019, in line with the rollout of the NDIS and funding changes within the disability sector, the way in which the cost of ILC’s Expert AT Consultation Service will be charged will change.
