ILC to provide AT assessments advice for NDIA

Lady seated in a wheelchair looking and smiling at her husband seated beside her on a couch in their homeThe Independent Living Centre WA (ILC) is pleased to be appointed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to offer clinical advice for participants and the NDIA for identified assistive technology (AT) assessments.

In this role our experienced health professionals will review identified AT assessments and identify any concerns with the recommendation(s) such as:

  • non-compliance with relevant standards;
  • atypical recommendation for this NDIS participant cohort and/or context; and/or
  • inappropriately specified AT (user weight, environmental suitability etc.).

Our health professionals will also provide any advice that may support the NDIS decision-making process.

Please note the assistive technology application process has not changed and applications should be submitted to as per the usual process.

Participants or therapists with queries about the status of their assistive technology applications can call 9235 7200 and ask for the assistive technology team, or email with the subject line “assistive technology query”.
