Dr Jordan Nguyen coming to Perth to present ‘Beyond Superhuman’

Dr Jordan Nguyen seated on some stepsThe Independent Living Centre WA together with Curtin University is proud to host Biomedical Engineer Dr Jordan Nguyen, for the ‘Beyond Superhuman’ presentation on 29 August 2016.

Jordan has a purpose to drive human evolution through the design of technologies that are changing the world through supporting disadvantaged people. We are now moving into a time where mankind will integrate human behaviour with technology and in doing so we will live a future that is beyond superhuman.

Dr Nguyen will be challenging our current ideas and expectations for how technology can change people’s lives!

With today’s staggering advances in technology, many new possibilities are emerging which almost seem to have come straight out of the realms of sci-fi fantasy. When we connect some of the dots between various cutting-edge fields, the innovations become even more intriguing. In this presentation, Dr Jordan Nguyen will raise an incredibly interesting and perhaps confronting conversation around links drawn between the fields of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, new techniques in 3D human scanning, neuroscience, and the ideas of human consciousness.

His recent documentary has gone global – where he worked with Riley, a 13 year old Australian boy with cerebral palsy to achieve his dream to drive a car! If you are working towards a new independence goal, or you support someone living with disability to plan goals and achieve their dreams, you will want to attend this workshop which will expand your thinking around what is possible with technology!
