Equipment and Technology Symposium a success
Jun
The Improving Outcomes through Equipment and Technology Symposium held at the ILC on 19 May, in partnership with Aged & Community Services WA (ACSWA), was a great success. Over 90 people from the aged and community care sectors attended the event to hear how equipment and technology can make a real difference to the lives of people they support.
Key note speaker Dr Natasha Layton helped join the assistive technology dots by speaking about her research and findings on how aged and community services can make the best of enabling technologies.
The second key note speaker was Kylie Pratt from Brightwater who impressed attendees with the first humanoid robot to be used in aged care and how utilising humanoid robots increases interaction. You can view the video from our Facebook page here.
There were inspiring presentations throughout the day from ILC, Clip Solutions, VisAbility, TADWA, ECU, UWA, National Relay Service, e-Tools, Bentech Assistive Technologies and Befriend.
Over 15 exhibitors filled the ILC display floor demonstrating products for organisations and consumers, as well as a touch and feel session to explore new equipment.
Thanks to Unicare Health and eTools who were the major sponsors of the symposium.
